When You Feel You Get Lost

A Note, Sunday February 25th, 2024 Sometimes life does not always go our way. There always somebody that holds up your way that make you're stuck, forever. You don't know what to do. You have nothing to do. No purpose in life. Life  so hard to live. You have no body to talk with and you expect them to understand. You know why? It is because they also have their own struggle to fight. If your best friends only can listen to your lament, you have to be grateful for it. Don't ever expect more. You just have to believe that they always be there for you whenever you want to share everything with them.  Just because they always be there for you, doesn't mean that you can bother them all the time. You have to be able to handle your hard time by yourself. The responsibility of your life is yours. There is no other choice but you're on your own. You have to figure out how to release the kind of feeling and convince to yourself that this will be ending soon.  Go o

Fried Banana, Indonesian Favorite Meal

Who doesn't know Fried Banana? Indonesian people know this meal. Banana tree can grow and be found in almost every where. There are some varieties of banana. Some can be processed to be a cake or other meal, and some we just can eat it.  One of the simple menu that made of banana is fried banana. There are some banana varieties that can be fried, one of them is called Pisang Tanduk. Pisang means banana and Tanduk means horn.  This kind of banana is longer than the other bananas and the texture is more solid. The taste of this banana is sweet. But if it is not ripe yet it tastes  sepet , not sweet not sour. To make fried Pisang Tanduk is very easy. It just need some flour, rice flour, sugar, water, and cooking oil.   

Akar Kelapa, The Indonesian Traditional Snack

  Akar Kelapa is the Betawi snack. It is one of the special snacks that has to be served in Betawi's House every Lebaran's day.  The name of Akar Kelapa is taken from its shape. Akar Means root and Kelapa Means coconut. So, the shape of this snack is like coconut root.  Akar Kelapa is an old snack that still exists until now. The taste of this snack is sweet and tasty. It's crunchy when you take a bite.

Comro, The Indonesian Traditional Snack

I have ever written about one of Indonesian traditional snack, Misro. You know what, that food always relates to the food that I want to tell you, Comro. Misro is short for aMis dijeRo, and Comro is short for onCom dijeRo. It means oncom (fermented of the dregs of tofu or soybean) is inside.  Like Misro, Comro is made of cassava as the main ingredient. The diference between Misro and Comro is the filling inside and the shape of those food. The shape of Misro is round, while Comro is oval. How to make Comro is the same as how to make Misro. In Indonesia, we still can find Comro easily. We can find it in fried food seller as the street food. The taste of this food is tasty and spicy (if someone wants to). Yet, to make this food is very easy. The ingredients we need: Cassava Coconut Oncom Salt Chili Shallot Garlic Cooking Oil How to make: Grate the cassava and coconut. Mix them and add it salt. Mix them altogether. Smash chili, shallot, garlic, and oncom. Then fry them until cooked.  Take

Kecapi or Santol Fruit, One of the Indonesian Fruit but Only Some People Know It

Santol or cotton fruit is a tropical fruit native to maritime Southest Asia. The santol is native to the Malesian floristic region but have been introduced to Indocina, Sri Lanka, India, and Indonesia.  In Indonesia, this fruit grows only in certain town, such as in Jakarta and Bekasi West Java. We call it Kecapi. There are two varieties of Kecapi with two different species, the yellow variety and the green one. The difference is in the color that the older leaves turn before falling.  The shape of Kecapi is small round and it has a soft skin like silk or cotton. The taste of the yellow variety is sweet if the fruit is ripe enough and sour if it is not ready to pick. But for the green variety, it is all sweet. We call that variety Kecapi Daon. Daon or Daun means leave. The color of the skin is just like its leave but the color of the fruit is white.  Unfortunately, Kecapi is not too familiar in Indonesia because the fruit seller is not really interested to sell it. Wedang Jahe, the Indonesian Traditional Drink

Indonesia has some traditional drinks that has some benefits for our body. One of them is Wedang Jahe.  Wedang Jahe comes from Javanese which means Ginger Drink. This drink was inherited from the ancestor from generation to another generation. And now it becomes a drink that can be consumed as a healthy drink for everybody in Indonesia. Like its name, jahe or ginger, this drink made from ginger for the main ingredient. Besides ginger, there are some herbs and condensed milk added into this drink. The taste is not only good, but also it can warm our body to make it feel good, especially in the cold weather.  Because of making Wedang Jahe is so easy, so everyone can make this drink by themselves or instantly buying this in the stores.  Wedang Jahe can be served in hot or cold with ice.

Bir Pletok, The Indonesian Healthy Beer

Bir Pletok or Pletok Beer is the Indonesian drink which is originally from Betawi, Jakarta. The color is red, the taste is sweet and hot, and it feels warm in our body.  Unlike the regular beer, it doesn't make someone gets drunk. Otherwise, it can make our body feels so good because the ingredients of this drink are made from the herbs. It contains ginger, lemongrass, cardamon, pandan leaves, Secang wood, palm sugar, and water. All ingredients are boiled at once. We can serve this drink in hot or cold with ice cube. Why is this drink called beer? This drink has already existed in Dutch colonial. At that time, the Dutch invaders brought their habit drank beer to make their bodies warmed. For Moslem people, it is forbidden to drink something that contains alcohol. To warm their body,  Betawi people tried to find the way how to make a drink that can warm the body and didn't make someone who drank it got drunk.
