Image
In some western countries have salad, in Indonesia has Asinan. There are two kinds of Asinan; Asinan Buah or Fruit Asinan and Asinan Sayur or Vegetable Asinan. But Asinan that I want to tell you is Asinan Sayur. Just like salad, the main ingredients of Asinan Sayur is vegetables. The thing that make it a bit different is the dressing or the sauce.  The word Asinan comes from asin, which means salty. It relates to how this food made. According to the history about the dish is the process of making it through salting the vegetables with salt or pickling one the vegetables with vinegar.  It is very easy to make Asinan Sayur. We only need some vegetables, such as: cucumber, carrot, bean sprouts, cabbage, and lettuce. And for the complementary we need fried peanut, tofu, yellow noodle, and kerupuk (Indonesian traditional chip). For the sauce we need peanut, palm sugar, tamarind, salt, chili, and water.

Kue Klepon is one of Indonesian traditional food that made from sticky rice flour. But some people make this food using sweet potato as the main ingredient.  Kue Klepon has a round shape, the color is light green, and the taste is sweet and tasty because there are palm sugar inside and grated coconut outside. Once you eat and bite it, don't open your mouth when Klepon is inside your mouth. Because the palm sugar will melt in your mouth shortly.  Kue Klepon has already been around Indonesia in 1950s and is still around until now. We can find it on traditional market or the street in the night.  To make Kue Klepon is very easy. It's not hard to find the ingredients for making it. We only need: Sticky rice flour Palm sugar Grated coconut Pandan leave or Pandan pasta Salt Or we can make it using the other ingredient. Just change the sticky rice flour to sweet potato and add some tapioca. By using sweet potato, the texture more tender and softer than using sticky rice flour. B...

Getuk or Gethuk is a Javanese traditional Food. It is made from cassava. There are some variants of Getuk. One of them is called Getuk Lindri. It has the softest texture than the other Getuk. In early 2000, this food was one of traditional food that can be found everywhere easily. Since there were so many kinds of food came up, this traditional food was a bit forgotten, even most of Indonesian millennial generations don't know this food. Year by year the seller of this food is less and the food is hard to find. Getuk Lindri still can be found in some places or in traditional market. But I rarely find it in the city or the region where I live in. I love Getuk Lindri much more the other Getuk. So, when I find the seller on the road, I feel so lucky that I can eat that food. Actually, it is not really hard to make Getuk. Yet because of its shape, it looks hard to make it. It needs a tool to make the shape. Lately, I found the way how to make it without the tool. Although it ...
