Comro, The Indonesian Traditional Snack

I have ever written about one of Indonesian traditional snack, Misro. You know what, that food always relates to the food that I want to tell you, Comro. Misro is short for aMis dijeRo, and Comro is short for onCom dijeRo. It means oncom (fermented of the dregs of tofu or soybean) is inside.

Like Misro, Comro is made of cassava as the main ingredient. The diference between Misro and Comro is the filling inside and the shape of those food. The shape of Misro is round, while Comro is oval. How to make Comro is the same as how to make Misro.

In Indonesia, we still can find Comro easily. We can find it in fried food seller as the street food. The taste of this food is tasty and spicy (if someone wants to). Yet, to make this food is very easy.

The ingredients we need:

  • Cassava
  • Coconut
  • Oncom
  • Salt
  • Chili
  • Shallot
  • Garlic
  • Cooking Oil
How to make:
  1. Grate the cassava and coconut.
  2. Mix them and add it salt. Mix them altogether.
  3. Smash chili, shallot, garlic, and oncom. Then fry them until cooked.
  4. Take the dough (number 2), flatten and fill it with fried oncom, cover it with another dough on top. Make it oval size.
  5. Fry it with medium heat until the color of Comro is golden.
  6. Comro is ready to serve.
