Gado-gado, Indonesian Traditional Dish
Gado-gado is one of Indonesian traditional dish that you can meet everywhere in Indonesia's streets or a restaurant. Almost Indonesian people like this food. Many people call it Indonesian salad.
Gado-gado comes from Betawi, Jakarta. The term Gado is from Betawi language, Menggado or Gadoin, which means to consume or eat something without rice. And Gado-gado itself in Indonesian literally means "mix -mix". We just have to mix all Gado-gado ingredients in one plate with peanut sauce.
Here are the main ingredients:
- Cucumber
- Boiled water spinach
- Boiled spinach
- Boiled cabbage
- Boiled bean sprouts
- Boiled long bean
- Fried Tempe
- Fried Tofu
If you want the special one, you can add boiled egg.
How to serve:
- You put all the ingredients and pour it a peanut sauce on them and mix altogether.
- Add some Krupuk (Indonesian traditional chip)
